Curators in Conversation w/ Jade Foster & Katherine Kennedy

  • CARIBBEAN CULTURAL CENTER AFRICAN DIASPORA INSTITUTE 120 East 125th Street New York, NY, 10035 United States (map)

Join us for a conversation highlighting the work of CCCADI’s Afro-Caribbean Art Curatorial Fellows. Jade Foster, a British curator and founder of Black Curators Collective will be in conversation with Katherine Kennedy, curator and cultural practitioner working for The Fresh Milk Art Platform in Barbados.

Foster and Kennedy will discuss shared concerns and intersecting ideas in their transnational curatorial practices. They will also expand on some of the contemporary challenges and questions they are grappling with—including the role of curatorial practices within global crises and emergencies, visibility and survival of queer and Black Caribbean artists, building equitable artist-curator relationships, and resisting the exotification or pigeonholing of Caribbean artists.

The conversation will be hosted by Grace Aneiza Ali, CCCADI Curator-at-Large.
