Meccamorphosis, author, actress, teaching artist and poet, is bringing her poetic flare to our page on Tuesday, August 18th. Mecca first garnered national attention after winning Brave New Voices, the largest international youth poetry slam in the world. Since then Mecca has won many awards and received many honors including becoming a poet ambassador for Baltimore City and being ranked the 4th slam poet in the world in 2019. As an incredible voice of Black women across the globe, we’re excited to see how her poetic energy amplifies all of our voices.
